    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course helped the students, including me, gain mastery of a language that we once thought impossible to learn. The class itself was fun. Additionally, since we were a small class, we had an opportunity to learn more about francophone culture itself, apart from the language.

    Course highlights:

From the course, I learnt how to take the AP French exam and how to write an essay in French, which proved to be a little difficult. For me the highlights was the "cheese and wine tasting" where we got to taste French cheeses along with a cup of sparkling grape juice (not actual wine). I enjoyed this day because it helped us understand a little bit of the culture, we practiced our French and it gave us a break of the stressful practice tests.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

What I personally did was get myself interested on French movies and music, in a way to sort of immerse myself in the language. When watching movies I started with English subtitles, then to French and ultimately to none. While listening to music I would look at the lyrics and translate them on a piece of paper. Apart from that I kept a diary that I wrote on daily in French.
