    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Doctor Fields is a very enthusiastic professor when it comes to her subject and she is willing to help her students. I gave her three stars because to me, her way of teaching is backwards and does not help student for the exam. She does a poor job of explaining the whole concept behind specific reactions and mechanism and instead just gives specific examples, which will not be the examples given on the exam.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to cram enough stuff into my head just to survive and exam. I feel as though I learned very little in this class as this is an extremely difficult course and her teaching style was not one that worked for me.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Just be prepared to have to teach yourself! If you are a good independent learner and you feel that you would be able to fill in the gaps that she leaves in her lectures then you will do ok in this course.

    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I personally loved learning about Organic Chemistry, but if it does not resonate with you, I actually would not recommend it unless you need it for a class. I would recommend this professor because he was quite a talented lecturer and was always trying to make the material easier to learn. If you are at all interested in chemistry, I would recommend taking this course, as I found it fascinating.

    Course highlights:

This class can be split into two halves: A mechanistic half, where you learn how all of these chemicals interact and how to name them, etc., and a reaction half, where you are given a bunch of different reactions and have to memorize them and apply them in multi-step reactions. As a result this course is quite challenging, requiring both adequate memorization and application of the material. But successfully clearing this course gives great insight to these two halves and how to apply them in the world of chemistry.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

This is not a class you want to procrastinate in, and everything you learn builds upon itself. As a result this class should be taken seriously, as a flimsy hold on the beginning material will only make the class harder to manage. There is a lot of visual conceptualization necessary, so an organic model kit would not be a bad idea as a study tool. Above all, try to remember your reasons for taking this course, as it will test you, but you will learn a lot from it if you pull through.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The class was great, the professor provided us with content that not only helped us prepare for the tests and the exam but it helped us understand the concepts in Organic chemistry which are crucial to the further knowledge.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was definitely then when the professor would give us extra credit exam questions via the clickers.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely STAY ON TOP of things and review the notes as soon as the lecture ends. Do not procrastinate.
