Not too easy. Not too difficult.

Learning about some of the intricacies of accounting was the biggest highlight of the course.

    Advice for students:

To buy the pro copy and attend all the scheduled lectures. Trust me, it will help out in the long run.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would totally recommend this class to anyone. Professor Cainas is awesome and she is always willing to help. Her pro-copy notes make the class so much easier to understand versus the textbook. The lectures are always interesting as well. I can't wait to take another accounting class taught by her.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the managerial side of accounting. I learned why businesses make the decisions that they do, like why they might sell an object for a certain price. Some of the highlights from the class would certain be from the lectures, you could never not laugh during a lecture! My personal highlight was receiving an A on the final exam.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You must attend the lectures! Even though the breakout sessions are the only mandatory class, it's vital to go to the lectures. You'll learn more from her pro-copy notes and lectures than you will reading the textbook. Always to the homework and review the clicker points before the exam. Also there are TA hours that will totally be beneficial if you need extra help.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was a challenging but informative course. Managerial accounting is overall more detailed the Financial and many students come into this course thinking its easier and it doesn't require as much studying as financial however they're wrong. Yes the concepts are easier, however its still work, a lot of concept and math. Cainas is an amazing professor and very fair and understanding. If you have any problems go to her and she will give you great advice. For the exams go to the TA office hours and they will help you study.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course would be that the material is actually more interesting than financial. Some concepts include Value Chain, Behavioral costing, ABC costing, Income statement...

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to class and pay attention. Simple as that. She is a great professor who explains well and as long as you don't fall behind you should get an A.
