    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I love this class, although in the fall it will be my 2nd time taking the course. I've learned so much and I've never taken a harder class in my life. The professor knows what he's talking about and can go into detail when answering any question you may have about the course.

    Course highlights:

The class has given me insight into the daily routine of a chemical engineer. Specifically in the area of material energy balancing. The law of conservation of mass is applied redundantly. I'll give you an example of something you should be able to solve once the course is finished. Let's say you have a stream flowing at a rate of 5mols/ minute (your inlet Stream) you combine that with another inlet stream that contains 50% water and %50 methanol. lets so you are to find out the amount of purge that must combine with the inlet stream to obtain a volume of 5cm^3 of pure water after distillation.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Come to class prepared, read the topic of next class prior to class, and read the notes you take immediately after class. Every single point counts because the test are really hard and you'll be lucky if you leave knowing you got a 30%
