Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

CCJ 3117 is Theories of Criminal Behavior. The course covers different theories that have been proposed seeking to explain why crime occurs. It is an extremely interesting course.

    Course highlights:

This course touches on research that has been conducted on criminal behavior and crime rates. It presents theories based on sociology, psychology, biology, etc. One of the things that I learned from this course is that even though crime has been studied for centuries there is still not a clear consensus on what causes crime. Some of the theories studied I agreed with, others I did not, and some present me with a new way of looking at why people commit crime.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The course does not cover a huge amount of material but you definitively need to stay on top of the reading assignments or you won't be able to catch up. Plus, the material is actually really interesting.
