    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it truly tests your ability to persevere. Organic Chemistry is not a subject I enjoy, but it was one that I knew I needed in order to apply to medical schools. Now that I have taken the course, I would highly recommend it because it taught me skills such as time management and adaptability (adapting to a teaching style and subject I was not used to).

    Course highlights:

Highlights of this course were exam days and the lecture after an exam. Exam days were a highlight because they tested me and forced me to prove my ability. Whenever we would start a new chapter I approached it as a new beginning for a semester long project. It was necessary to be open-minded and to build off of what you had learned in chapters prior. I learned about how to adapt and work towards a challenge.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay on top of the work. Dr. Fields gives great advice herself on how to study so definitely listen to it. Working a little bit every day is how you stay on top of the material. Also, use your resources: Office hours, TA help, Discussion classes, friends, Course Hero, online videos. Lean on friends in the course as well. They can support you through the process.
