    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The class is difficult and significant amount of students fail at first attempt due to not being prepared for the amount of work required. USF is ranked quite high in statics and dynamics and that due to the amount of work that is needed to succeed. You will truly learn the subject.

    Course highlights:

You learn how forces act on a body to reach equilibrium. It allows you to explain the way structures like beams inside the building experience different load placements and distributions of forces applied to them. There are many truss/bridge system analysis problems which reflect real life structures such as buildings and roads.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this course you have to do statics work assigned at least 5 days a week solving 4-5 problems a day. Most of the civil and mechanical engineering students need this course to progress to dynamics. Both courses hold key concepts to understanding large systems depending if they are stationary or in movement.
