    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend taking this with this professor for business students because she does an excellent job of teaching the class and covering course materials. This is a work intensive class. You must do your part to keep up with the reading and homework to prepare for exams.

    Course highlights:

I have learned about financial statements and time value of money. Some of these concept will apply to many business majors.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Consistently keep up with the reading and do the homework. The amount of effort put into them will reflect on the exams.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because along with the textbook that is required, Professor Cainas also has her personal notes regarding the class materials available for the students to gain a more in depth understanding of the material they are learning.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course for me was learning how to balance a checkbook and learning everything with financial accounting. I never knew much about how to handle my money and after this course I have gained a better understanding of it.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Study the notes that the professor provides for you and keep up with the Friday discussion classes because they really do come in handy.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I think this is a great course for accounting majors as well as other business majors. I have used material I learned in this class for my internship I am currently completing. This class really helps as a prerequisite for Managerial Accounting.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were the amazing TA's that helped teach material I did not understand. The class offers Blackboard Collaborations before tests which helps with learning material quick before an exam. The class also has a ProCopy supplement that was a tremendous help because the accounting material can get very dense and the copy does a good job at breaking everything down.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would take it seriously. Every grade counts. The material is very dense and it can be hard to remember and understand everything. The instructors and TA do not want to see students fail. They are there to help so take advantage of all the tools they give because the class can be made easier with all of the helpful tools they give.
