    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Professor Cruz really does care about the students learning the material. He will ask repeatedly if anyone has any question concerning the topic at hand. He even uploads links to videos that a TA has searched the neverending material on Youtube to help students review at hand.

    Course highlights:

Not only is Cruz an amazing professor, he also has this sense of humor he intertwines with teaching. I took this class during a summer semester, so it was fast paced but I believe going to class daily helped with retaining the information.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you attend USF, take Professor Cruz, it will make Chemistry suck a little less for you. And I will miss Happy Dance Friday.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course, being a summer course is expected to be challenging. Having a professor who genuinely cared about the success of his students was very beneficial in maintaining a passing grade in this class. Office hours were always recommended for the students to visit and Dr. Cruz made it a welcoming environment for all who did.

    Course highlights:

I obviously gained credits for taking general chemistry, but I also gained a fondness for the subject all together. It was easier to understand than ever before and I actually enjoyed showing up to class at 8am Monday-Friday.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would definitely recommend putting time and effort into doing the homework every day. As long as you take a few minutes and work on problems that you learned about in class that day, you'll earn a better understanding for the material and wont be scrambling to get it done the night before it is due.
