    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is tough. A lot of memorization and studying required to pass. The professor is a great lecturer. He tries to connect the info to real life applications in order for you to know why the info is relevant. However, I need this info for medical school, so I am glad that he made us actually learn the material.

    Course highlights:

I learned a LOT!! Biochemistry is very interesting, but tough. We learned a lot about amino acids, fatty acids, plasma membrane, enzyme kinetics, enzyme affinity, DNA, DNA replication, carbohydrates, and metabolism pathways.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do a lot of practice exams. This will let you know what type of questions he will put on there. He doesn't repeat them, but he does use a similar model for 70% of the exam. Study the material.. you have to know it because the way he asks questions you have to know exactly what you're talking about. Lastly and most importantly, go to his office hours and lecture review classes!! He often hints at what is important type of question to know.

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

He is a great professor, don't get me wrong, but the way he taught just didn't pair very well with my learning style. Unfortunately, thats how a lot of classes are at universities but some courses make that even more difficult, especially biochemistry. There was an abundant amount of reading and preparation that was needed to be successful.

    Course highlights:

Learning about the different proteins, their form, the way they metabolize, and the proper terminology definitely stuck with me. That was my favorite part of this course. Learning how chemistry and biology really coexist with each other.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My advise would be to study and read as much as you can. I would suggest reading the chapters at least three times while studying, your brain absorbs more through repetition.
