Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is structured very well to teach you all you need to know about literature and writing history. Mrs. Sweeney is awesome and funny and I can't give her higher praise. You'll learn so much when you leave and you will be better prepared to write in a competitive market. You will have fun and learn a lot.

    Course highlights:

We studied famous writings including Beowulf, King Arthur, and Canterbury Tales. These works of literature are engaging and relevant to today more than I had imagined. We discussed how characters and events relate to real life and tried to make connections to our current society after reading many parts. My favorite story was Canterbury Tales because the themes were for older readers and the frame story setup of the book provided many layers of complexity for me to read into and understand.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Try to get into what your reading. Do extra research to fill yourself in before you read. I found that technique to add to my enjoyment of the stories as I had an easy time remembering what I learned and applying it to what I read. Be sure to study and be sure to pay attention as the authors add many layers of information in their texts.
