    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it is a tough, but rewarding course. There is a lot of reading on your own, but the reading is advanced and always teaches you something. There are many times writings to practice for the AP test.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were reading different novels and plays of literary merit, and discussing them. We discussed themes, symbols, characterization, irony, and so much more. There is never a correct answer to any of these questions, which leaves everything up to imagination.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to set at least 1 hour aside every night to do AP Lit homework. After you read anything, you have to be able to comprehend what you read, and be able to discuss it in class.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This course is a great way for students to develop their writing skills and talents. Constable is a teacher that is not too strict or too lenient.

    Course highlights:

This course was my first AP class and I definitely believe that it was worth my time. I never felt overwhelmed by the homework or workload. I learned how to study best for the AP exam, which will help if I choose to take the other AP English exam.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The best approach for this class is to really focus on your writing and how to improve it. I would recommend taking timed writings seriously.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is the definition of in-depth preparation. Sheaffer prepares every student for the AP Language test, administered by college board.

    Course highlights:

Before the AP test, the class takes a break to look at a miniature film and movies review unit that freshens up the whole class!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

HIGHLIGHT! Highlight all passages and their key statements as you read. It makes it much easier to go back and find evidence for your arguments.
