    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you are curious as to how the world around us works, chemistry is a wonderful course to take. During this course you'll explore what the building blocks of our universe are and how, over time, we have discovered their secrets and how they manipulate themselves across the cosmos.

    Course highlights:

As with most science courses, the most fun parts of this course are the labs. All of them are fun and all of them are meaningful to what you are going to learn.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

ALWAYS DO YOUR HOMEWORK! Seriously, do not forget to do that stuff. it may be boring and take forever, but you wont regret doing it. Also, if you can find time, make sure you do some extra learning outside of class, like finding practice problems to do.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course, especially as an AP science course. Though often times difficult and requiring a lot of memorization, it was a great overview of major themes of biology. The course definitely expanded beyond the general scope and sequence of a traditional standard or honors biology course, but dealt with similar overall topics. AP Biology dealt considerably more with biochemistry and anatomy, both of which would be great prerequisites to the course.

    Course highlights:

I learned considerably more in depth about main themes such as photosynthesis, cellular respiration, general anatomy, ecology, genetics, and biochemistry. Due to the wide range of information studied in the course, I quickly learned how to study more efficiently and effectively, a skill that has expanded into other difficult classes.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would definitely purchase a review book for the AP exam in August, rather than in May. While this may seem unnecessary, the study book can serve as a great quick review of topics before unit tests. I would always do any required readings in order to keep up with the material. As it is such a fast paced course, crash course biology or anatomy videos can be great tools for quick summary and review before tests, even the AP test.
