    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Mr. Nagro is a great teacher! He really cares about his students success and gives is good at giving his time whenever I needed it for extra help in English. People in this class with like minded classmates who have a desire to grow in the subject. They study many different pieces of literature and have many discussions.

    Course highlights:

We did a lot of writing in this class! I was able to go from at the beginning of the class to someone who wasn't as confident in my writing skills, to someone who wrote more fluently and with much more confidence. One thing I learned was to trust in my writing and reading abilities more and to give it my all. Because of taking this course and pushing myself, I feel much more prepared in my college classes.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

It is best to take this class as a senior in high school, and to take difficult honors English classes leading up to it. Doing this will help students be more prepared for the amount of homework with reading and writing. If you take this class, give your best effort. The more you put in with work will result in the more you take out of it.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course include in-depth readings of works with literary merit, such as Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew, Orwell's 1984, and excerpts from Milton's paradise lost.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Remember: communication is key! Most teachers are beyond reasonable if you go to them with concerns, questions, or struggles, and Mr. Nagro is no exception. Also? You can redo most assignments in this class, and opportunities for extra credit abound, so don't sweat it if you have a bad day and write a bad essay--you can make it all come out even, with a little effort.
