    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course thoroughly explores the fundamentals of single-variable calculus, and is a great foundation for anyone looking to go into STEM. The coursework is not too difficult, but the concepts can be difficult to grasp the first time through. The teacher is incredibly supportive and always offers her time outside of class, and when lecturing she checks for student comprehension. Although there is a lot of material, it doesn't ever feel rushed, because there is always time to review and prepare for the next assignment, quiz, or assessment.

    Course highlights:

This course has parts that are easy, and parts that are hard. The feeling of understanding concepts with ease is great, but so is the feeling of success after mastering a more difficult section. None of the material is riveting, but it is absolutely applicable and it's a great start to calculus.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Doing the homework is crucial, especially considering that many of the assessments are modeled after assignments given beforehand. Taking good notes and reviewing material that is difficult to understand is a great strategy to ensure that you have complete comprehension of a topic before moving on.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The class teaches concepts applicable to the real world that are vital especially for students considering a more mathematical approach in their futures.

    Course highlights:

The course has a lengthy curriculum including Limits, Derivatives, Topics of Differentiation, Integration, Applications of the Definite Integral in Geometry, Science, and Engineering, Principles of Integral Evaluation, Mathematical Modeling with Differential Equations, Infinite Series, and Parametric, Vectors, and Polar Curves. Although it seems a lot and dives into a few specifics among each topics, it is greatly manageable and all connects cohesively.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't overestimate it, if you put in the work and time you can manage and thrive in this class

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because it is a very challenging, but very interesting class. Mr May is also one of my favorite teachers.

    Course highlights:

By taking this course, I have learned new ways of thinking and have accomplished more than I ever thought I would. Math has never been my strongest subject but throughout the course of this class, I have grown a new appreciation for it.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure that you do your homework every night. I know it may not always be the most interesting thing to do, but it will pay off greatly when the test comes around.
