    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Ms. Beskenis knows her stuff! She picks engaging books and offers great insight into those works.

    Course highlights:

I really enjoyed our Socratic seminars; debating points of a book with other students is engaging and fun.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not use cliche's. Beskenis hates them. She loves Austen, so any Pride and Prejudice references you can work in will serve you well.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course highlights:

In this course you read a lot of thought provoking books and discus controversial topics within them will that will broaden your overall prospective on life.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make flashcards for vocabulary words so that you can review quickly when ever you need to and stay on track. If you fall behind in the workload, it's hard to get back!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Ms.Beskenis is the AP Language goddess who really knows her material well. She is well-prepared and provides constructive criticism in order to help you get you in that 7 to 9 range. She is a wonderful and intelligent teacher and I can only credit my excellent AP score to her alone.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to write comparative, rhetorical analysis, and argumentative essays. The highlights of this course is that it allows you to step up your writing skills from elementary to college level. Because colleges have a different format that becomes more professional and more stringent, AP Lang makes it easier to transition into advanced writing pieces through books and essays.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Practice essays before doing ones in class and take the comments seriously otherwise your grade on the 1-9 scale will not budge.
