    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course teaches very useful probabilistic skills that is applicable in many advanced statistics classes.

    Course highlights:

I learnt about different distributions (Normal, Binomial, Poisson, Exponential etc) and also learnt many probability calculations. This is an important course especially for students planning on taking the probability actuarial exam.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention in class, go to the math lab for tutoring help if necessary and read the book.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to those who would like to gain a more solid background in probability. If you have previously taken Stats 250; be cautious though. This course is definitely homework heavy and requires a decent amount of time as well as commitment.

    Course highlights:

I was able to gain knowledge of Normal Distributions, Binomial Distributions, Poisson Distribution as well as numerous other important distributions in probability. After taking an introductory statistics course, this was a good course to take if the student wanted to focus on just a certain aspect of what they learned in Stats 250.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the book! But do not get discouraged if not everything is clear, as many topics are outside of the scope of the class. Take time to figure out which aspects are truly important for the exam and ask questions if you do not understand. Be proactive.
