    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class attacks statistics from a conceptual level, instead of just focusing on crunching numbers, and as a result, enables students to understand real-life applications of statistical principles. The ideas I learned in this class were easy to apply to so many other things and classes. Also, Prof. Rothman was a great teacher - very knowledgeable but also understanding of students' pace of understanding material.

    Course highlights:

Overall, being able to connect statistical principles to actual businesses, structures, and ideas around us in daily life was the main highlight. One of my favorite examples is learning why you shouldn't blame a child for spilling milk before understanding the stability of a system - my point is, you learn to make connections you didn't think of before. The Red Bead Experiment was also another highlight. Being able to combine math and principles in a way that made sense for students helped us learn the material effectively.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go in with an open mind! This is unlike other stats courses you will probably take during college. Also, don't wait till the last minute to do your masteries!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I loved this course!! The professor is interesting and practical. He uses real examples to help the class learn. The professor actually wants the students to learn not to memorize so that makes the class manageable grade wise.

    Course highlights:

You learn about systems and the ways systems work. You have 3 exams and 15 masteries that you have to get done. Weekly homework as well.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

As long as you keep up with the work each week, it is very manageable.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you get your masteries approved early. Don't wait till the last minute!
