    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is hard, but it's not as hard as CHEM 210. The material is relevant to biology, and Dr. Wolfe is an excellent professor. I'd recommend joining a study group or at least taking the class with some friends, because there are no answers to the coursepack and it's best to discuss the problem-solving with other people.

    Course highlights:

This course covers a number of reactions, including Swern oxidation, reactions of carboxylic acids and derivatives of carboxylic acids, and more. It also covers some protein structure, reactions, and catalysis, as well as carbohydrate structure and reactions.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely study in a group - the instructors don't provide answers to the coursepack, so if you can't reason through a question on your own, chances are one of your peers can.
