    | Would recommend.

    Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

    I loved the course topics I just wasn't a big fan of the small homework assignments that were not always clear and I did not like the discussion section either. My dislike for that part of the class might be influenced by the fact that the discussion was my 5th class on Monday, so definitely don't do that.

    Course highlights:

    I learned some basic genetics which I thought was really interesting. I also learned about the different relationships between organisms like parasitism and mutualism which I find fascinating. I learned about trophic levels and how carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorous cycle through the different trophic levels.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

    Definitely go to lecture, the lecture recordings are online but iclicker questions do help your overall grade and they are usually pretty easy. Doing the readings also does help and makes the quizzes easier, you get three tries and there's no time limit so the quizzes aren't bad. When studying for exams definitely do all the practice exams without looking at the key and I would also recommend joining an SLC study group, you get to review topics you are having trouble with and see more exam questions.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

    It is a good class and the information is interesting, but if you are not interested in the sciences then I would not really see why you would take this class

    Course highlights:

    The highlights would have to be the quick simple quizzes and the weird videos that she shows. Ive learned a lot

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

    Stay on top of everything, go to office hours and drop in tutoring, start studying a couple days before the test

    Course Overview:

    Requirement for all pre-meds. Try to get into a study group so that you have access to additional quiz material and past exams. Usually the material is pretty similar from year to year.

    Course highlights:

    High yield info includes the information on genetics--punnent squares, HW equations, understanding alleles and their frequencies and transmission over time. This information is foundational to what you'll learn in med school and shows up on MCAT and STEP 1.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

    Lecture doesn't deviate far from slides if you're more efficient studying on your own. Try to condense lecture into outlines because there is a huge volume of material.
