Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Good Idea as an Underclassman – The dinning halls get somewhat repetative after a couple months, but the food is always well made. Mojo (hill dinning center) has the largest selection, but other dinning halls also have specialty items (ex. make your own pizza in Markley) so to switch things up you can always try a new dining hall.

    Course highlights:

The libraries are amazing - clean, air-conditioned, and you never have to wait long for a book. There are 2 main libraries plus various speciality ones (medical, historical, etc.). There are three gyms on campus with great hours and affordable classes.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Drugs Are Plentiful – The drug scene at Michigan is used widely and is readily available to anyone, especially marijuana. Alcohol is of course used on a daily basis and the enforcement of drugs is somewhat lenient depending on who catches you, but still be on the look out.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The dorms range from brand new to a bit older. The knewer dorms are state-of-the-art. While the older dorms could use some sprucing up and are usually far too hot during the winter becasue the heat is cranked all the way up, they're charming and safe place to live and meet students.

    Course highlights:

U-M is great because it recognizes when students will do activities like drinking anyway and, instead of trying to prevent it, they give the tools needed to keep their students safe (like the Stay in the Blue app).

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The price of off-campus housing is probably the worst feature. While you can find some reasonable prices, many other college towns, that I have friends in, are much more college student price friendly. All of the really nice apartments and houses are way out of my price range.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

You Have to Be Your Own Advocate. My first and second years I didn't get very much financial aid through the school, but it was fine. My third year I needed a lot more financial aid,Pretty Laid Back – Marijuana is decriminalized in Ann Arbor, so as long as you aren't technically on campus the penalty for getting caught .

    Course highlights:

Off campus parking is difficult to come by, but you can sometimes rent from friends with off campus housing who do not have cars. Around Ann Arbor it is usually metered street parking, but there are a few parking structures around town.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

University offered me an amount that seemed a little low, so we called and talked with the advisors about the issues that resulted in my needing more aid and they came back with a very wonderful financial aid package for me.To get permits for on campus parking it is very expensive.
