    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Physics 140 is a requirement for an engineering degree, but above that, Yuri Popov is a great professor who makes sure his students understand his lectures. He also has great office hours and stays for as long as he has to for his students.

    Course highlights:

This course can be challenging, but there are plenty of resources that can helpful succeed. For starters, Professor Popov has convenient officer hours for all students. Professor Popov also does a lot of visuals that helps students learn quicker, and he goes over plenty of helpful examples and occasionally records them so that students can go back to look at them.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

I would highly recommend students to read ahead of time, so they can have an understanding of the information. I also recommend students to go to office hours to make sure they understand the material. One last piece of advice is to study 2 weeks prior to the exam so that students will not have to cram all their studying for multiple exams at the same time.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This was the first course I took on a college campus, and the work requirement set the bar at a productive level.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to put in preparation for everyday classes and how to set time apart every week to study for exams. Even though it was a lot of work, I really enjoyed my first physics class. The material is what initially got me interested in engineering, and affirmed my choice of a major.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make yourself do practice problems. The assignments are great guides that lead to what needs to be known, but is not enough to stay at the top of the class.
