    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because it prepares you for the load of coursework you will receive and the type of environment it will be like at an actual college classroom.

    Course highlights:

Some of the highlights were just the camaraderie in the classroom. It is the first classroom I have really felt I would not be judged for the insight I had on a specific text we were reading at the time. Dr. F also really took the time to read through are essays and give us useful feedback rather than just a letter grade.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You have to have patience with the writing process, in saying so, if would be in their best interest to at least start working on an essay a week or two before the due date. Not to finish it, but to get organized and your ideas aligned, that way when you come back you just have to write it out.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mrs. Gaudin is a great teacher and keeps the students interested by always changing up the material. Also, she gives plenty of time for projects, which includes work time in class so that the student won't be overwhelmed with homework.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was writing our short stories. We were able to choose whichever topic and characters that we wished to write about, making it much more interesting to the writer. I learned a lot in this class, including how to correctly include dialogue in writing and how to use the five senses more descriptively throughout my writings.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed in this class be sure to stay up to date of the assignments and the due dates. Late work is only worth 50%, so turning in work on time is very important.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Mrs. Fankhauser makes it her goal to ensure that the students leave her classroom more knowledgeable than they were when they came into the classroom.

    Course highlights:

I learned that English can be a fun class and it does;t always have to be reading and writing all the time.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to get to know the teacher because she's one of the best and Lake Stevens. And don't take it for granted.
