Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course taught me everything I need to know about writing all types of essays and personal statements

    Course highlights:

I learned how to efficiently respond to a prompt, I also learned how to be direct and precise with my language and ideas when trying to explain them to others.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do the reading, learn annotating skills early and feel free to put your own personality into writing

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because not only did it allow me to learn how to write college-quality essays, but also prepared me for timed writing situations- such as the SAT and ACT, which had been VERY beneficial to me.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course in my opinion was learning, in depth, the novel "The Scarlet Letter"- very enlightening.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice would be to refrain from procrastinating. Procrastinating is never a good idea- but especially in this course- it will set you behind, and there simply is just no room for that in this course.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

AP Language is a great class to take if you'd like to improve your writing skills and be prepared for college essays. It's definite;y not an easy class, it is challenging but Mrs. Hughes makes it less strenuous.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to write an analytical research essay as well as college prompts and the new SAT essay. I also picked up higher vocabulary words along the way. This class also helped me to question and analyze news and any article that I read.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention in class and stay organized. every word your teacher says (especially Mrs. Hughes) is gold and you should apply it to your writing.
