    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I loved learning from Mr. Howell. He presented great information in a way the really engaged me. For example, we had class discussions that helped me learn a lot of information. He also gave homework that was meaningful towards the class as a whole, which I think a lot of teachers don't do well.

    Course highlights:

The highlights for me were learning about manifest destiny and the progressive era.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

If you want to do well read everything that is assigned and learn to write and think quickly.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It shows a student the "whys" of history, instead of just spewing facts and dates. It is about actually learning how everything is connected and it's so exciting to see a country grow from nothing.

    Course highlights:

The history I learned was presented in a way that I could carry it to other classes, like Honors Government. I learned about old Federalist ideas and how the Founding Fathers set a precedent for Americans for years to follow.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not ever procrastinate. The information will be retained so much easier if it's studied a little bit every day. Also look for online resources and use them. I loved the John Green history crash courses.
