    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course to a student who has a passion for writing and understanding language composition. You learn various things a bout how to write proper essays and vocabulary, as well as increasing your writing skills. I do not recommend taking this class if you do not find a joy in english or writing.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed being pushed to do more than what we thought were our limits. By the end of the year, we would easily write an essay every week. and whats more, we would be timed! Although this was difficult, I know now that it benefited me personally as a writer. The course also taught me how to organize my thoughts on paper. One may know how to write and may be very talented, but not know how to organize their words in order for it to benefit the reader. Vocabulary was an important aspect of the class as well. This is beneficial for me because it broadened my horizons when it comes to words and knowing the meanings of them.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay organized. Keep your binder in order and always be ready to write and take notes on what the teacher is teaching.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course was absolutely eye opening in terms of offering unique global perspectives to different issues presented in class. These issues were grounded in a study of literature from different time periods in history.

    Course highlights:

The best part of this course is the numerous opportunities to participate in class discussions and share knowledge and experiences with your classmates. I learned a lot about how narrow my slice of the world is and how to see things from other points of view. I also learned how to analyze literature based on the historical context using literary and rhetorical devices learned in class.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

In order to be successful in this class it is crucial that you complete the assigned reading assignments and also stay informed on current events.
