Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

AP Literature is a course that I would recommend because it is one that introduces you to the structure of college. In this course, you're expected to have some knowledge in not just reading literature but being able to manage your time wisely and this class is a great start to preparing for those skills.

    Course highlights:

One of the great things about this class is being able to read literary classics, such as Frankenstein and Jane Eyre, as well as modern classics, such as A Prayer for Owen Meany. By taking this class, I learned that reading is not only about trying to make sense of what words on a page but it's also about inviting yourself to the world of the narrator and taking in everything that they have to tell you about his/her life. It's almost like reading a journal entry that they regularly contribute to.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

One thing you must always do in such a challenging course as this is to make sure you are on top of your work. Always turn in your assignments on time and, if you can, finish the next assignments early. This will not only get you a better grade in the class but will also allow you to feel less stressed out by schoolwork.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is very challenging, not only does it challenge you in literature but with things that you will need later in furthering your education. I really enjoyed this class. You will really need to be on top of things, also you will need to really focus. This course allows you to be creative so tap into that. Figuring and unpacking novels using different literary techniques. All in all this was a great class.

    Course highlights:

I learned a ton. A lot of the novels we read had tons of life lessons and unpacking the novels, trying to get the full in depth meaning was challenging but fun. I would recommend this course to anyone.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say take in all you can. Pay attention to every detail, and work hard.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it forces you to strive higher than you thought possible. This class pushes you beyond measure and forces you to learn. People see force as a harsh word but in actuality it is exactly what students need to make them more successful in the future. The point of this class or any AP class is to prepare you for college and I would say this class does exactly that.

    Course highlights:

My highlight of this course was actually catching up with the work. As a senior in high school we have lots of responsibilities and I couldn't juggle them all at once and I became frustrated. Mrs. Tobin and I constantly talked about pace and planning out everything I do so it won't be such a heavy loud later on.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be mentally prepared for this course. If you have a don't care attitude coming into this class and don't expect to work you will fail. Failing in this class isn't all that bad if you actually try because the course is tough. If you receive high grades you know you did high quality work. ALWAYS STUDY. Being prepared isn't a bad idea for this course and keep up with the work.
