    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Ms. Knetter knows her subject VERY well and does her best to make sure we as students are understanding the course, as well as giving us as many study resources.

    Course highlights:

I think what I got from this course Is that everything in science is connected in some way, and that it's OKAY if you don't totally understand a subject.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you feel confident in Bio, take it! Just make sure to STUDY. Right from WEEK ONE. If you don't begin understanding from the beginning, it'll only get harder.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is great if you are looking into any future college courses for Biology. The classwork is intense but it is great to understand the overall content of the course.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot from this course. The content displays several connections between topics and allows for more understanding of the natural world through the eye of Biology.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are considering this course, you must do the work. By doing the work, even though it is a lot, it will help you understand the content being taught.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend this class! It's tough but definitely worth it if you are interested in the content. The class goes in-depth in a variety of subjects related to biology including genetics, the chemistry of life, diseases and illnesses, etc. and provides a substantial amount of information for all the topics. Assignments and practices given during the course help to reinforce what is taught in the class and with time-management can be completed fully and lead to a better understanding of the course. The class is difficult but not impossible and the challenge prepares you for the rigors‚Äč of college-level courses.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course, for me, were when we learned about the biological level of illnesses and diseases. I have always been very interested in the workings, both positive and negative, of the human body and so this was a very fun part of the class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

This class won't be fun for you if you aren't interested in the content. I have always loved seeing the details behind larger things and this allowed me to do just that. My biggest suggestions would be to do all your homework and the assigned reading (which isn't very much). There are many research-based projects, both individual and group, throughout the year so make sure you are capable of working independently and with others. In terms of out-of-class time commitment, this class was one of the most compared to my others, but much of that was due to fun projects.
