Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Profe Kramer constantly encourages her students to immerse themselves within the Spanish culture both in and beyond the classroom. She is involved in a variety of clubs that promote diversity and inspire students to become more exposed to different languages, customs, and traditions. She provides great opportunities for students to practice conversations, write educated reports about current events in Spanish-speaking countries around the world, and appreciate the Spanish language. The class has given me confidence and the inspiration to continue studying Spanish throughout my whole college experience.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were definitely the speaking portions. We learned the language interactively through playing games, creating presentations, and learning how to translate articles from English to Spanish. Through these experiences, I gained more confidence in my speaking abilities and am now able to successfully communicate with my Spanish-speaking side of the family.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Practice, practice, practice. Spend time reading, writing, or speaking Spanish as much as you can. The more you become accustomed to the language, the easier it will be for you to understand. It requires a lot of work to be able to fully comprehend all of the language rules, but the language is simply beautiful. Once you are able to appreciate the language, it will be more fun for you to spend time studying. Make flashcards. Play the games that allow you to practice tenses. Watch Spanish television shows. Try to start a conversation with your friend who speaks fluent Spanish. Download the Duolingo app on your cellphone. There are a variety of ways to make this course easier to handle, but I promise the course will be worth it. Knowing more than one language opens up so many doors for you, not only for careers, but for communicating as well.
