Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Besides the teacher generously sharing her laughter and knowledge of literature with us students, I really enjoyed the books and plays we read in this class. Also, the way we learned vocabulary was effective and kind of fun.

    Course highlights:

A highlight of this course would have to have been reading Fences by August Wilson ( I didn't even have to look up the author, that is how well this play stuck in my head). I was given the opportunity to play a strong worded father with a temper. I learned about allusions, not to be confused with illusions, an allusion is a somewhat subtle reference to outside knowledge (people, events, facts) found in literature.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice is that when reading a book or play with your class, make it a priority to really get into it. Not only will this make the whole experience more rewarding, but you have to read it anyway so why make it a burden?

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is not that hard and is on the lower end of the homework load as far as AP goes. Mrs Banda is a good teacher that cares about her students success and is always willing to help. The class is very interesting as you dive into the different components of literature.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was definitely the book selections. We read 3 books in class all of which were interesting and created great discussion.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not go into it unless you enjoy reading and do not fall behind in your reading schedule. Always study for Greek and Latin root test and keep an open mind.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class to someone who likes reading and is up for a challenge. You will learn how to look into deeper meanings an author might have written in a book as well as learning too understand more complex literature.

    Course highlights:

In this class I learned how to become a better reader and writer. I am now much better at reading complex literature such as Shakespeare. This class also helped me improve my writing by a lot and I felt very well prepared for the AP test.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

In this class you MUST do all of the reading she gives to you and independent reading. Along with this, you must finish the book cards afterwards or else it will bring your grades down.
