    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Mr. Miner will not only teach you history, but its application. He will show you history.

    Course highlights:

As an optional part of the course, we took a field trip to Washington D.C. We visited lots of historical sites. The coolest part of the trip was when we visited the tomb of the unknown soldier and watched the guard change. They were very exact and would take a step to a rhythm, one step every second if I remember right. They were perfectly in sync. Very impressive.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

This course requires a lot of memorizing dates. The biggest and most stressful part of the course is a pass-fail exam of all of the presidents of the United States and their terms of service. If you are gong to take this course I would begin studying that right away. I would recite the names and terms of service to a song and that helped me remember.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

You learn a lot and it prepares you for the AP test. It is also a concurrent enrollment class through UVU. This class teaches you not only history but how to study for the class and for your other classes.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to study and the best way to take notes for me. I learned about US history and how to take the AP test so that I would pass the AP test.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would give the advice to take notes, and use your resources. Don't be afraid to use the internet to find the answers to the questions. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Read the textbook and take notes on the textbook, not just the lecutres. I also would look up notes on the chapter in the textbook on the internet

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Gary Miner is an amazing instructor. He helps you to be personally attached with the material. This is an important quality when it comes to history classes. Work hard it is a difficult class, and he will push you. But you won't hate it.

    Course highlights:

I gained a new vision on out national history and what it means to be and american in general. I have had a bigger desire to learn about history. So much so that I made a trip to washington D.C. with the class recently.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to work hard and actually study for a test for once.
