Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It teaches you much more about higher level writing, and understanding high level writing. Improving important skills and techniques to be successful in reading and writing. You must be willing to put in the work though, and at times it may be difficult, but worth it.

    Course highlights:

One highlight is I have improved my reading comprehension immensely. I have challenged myself to read more intimidating books, and applied them into my class work. It also helped me increase my reading and english scores on the ACT. Most of what I read now I am able to mentally annotate and gain a more full understanding of what the writer is conveying to their audience.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

First, Realize that not everything you learn will come naturally to you, but you must work to improve. Second, don't be afraid to write or read about something you don't understand, you will be surprised how you will react to new subjects and ideas. Lastly, when one writes a paper it can be better just by rewriting key points so they stand out and strongly represent what your purpose of writing is.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course if you are interesting in writing and will work hard. This class has really improved by writing because it is challenging and takes me out of my comfort zone.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about writing in general in this course, but the biggest thing that this class has helped me with is editing. We make multiple rough drafts for each paper, often using suggestions made by the teacher or by classmates when they review them. This has taught me that it's important to have others take a look at your writing and that you should not, and cannot, write a whole paper in one night

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Word hard, pay attention, turn your assignments in on time and never try to write a paper in one night. It just does not work and you lose sleep in the process.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is a college course and you can take it in high school for less money than in college. It focuses on writing papers and then it will definitely benefit you for harder English classes in college, and better your writing and reading skills.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to write a long thesis with enough information to keep the reader reading. I learned reading and writing skills that have made my papers go from a B to an A.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay lots of attention in class. Go to class. Do not procrastinate any papers because if you do they will not be as good as they would have been if you got it done earlier. Make sure you learn to do citations correctly because you do not want to get docked points for citing wrong.
