Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course work was fascinating and engaging. Not only was it easy to be interested in the material, but the teacher was able to teach in a way that gave me a few ah-ha moments. The creativity as well as curiosity of the course kept me on my toes.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the basic elements that make up the society I see around me - both on an individual level and a group dynamic. The science of psychology made it easy to connect the dots to how our brains work to respond the way they do.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Have a drive to succeed. If you already have an intrinsic motivation to learn and be immersed in the study of "how and why" pertaining to humans, this course is for you. Make an effort to make connections to what you already know and the rest will come along.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course is really interesting if you want to know the "Why?" behind behavior. The course is also a little bit of science and history mixed because you learn a lot about the history of psychology. This course is a little bit different in that it is more lecture and reading based; there isn't really any "busy" work, which is nice, however that also means that tests are more important to your grade, making the listening and reading vital to your studying.

    Course highlights:

I personally really enjoyed the developmental psychology unit because I found it applicable to reality. It was also very logical to see how people progress through these stages. For example, if you look back on your life, how you were as a child you can see how you moved through the stages. Generally, the course is focused on the different perspectives of psychology and how each one views behavior from a slightly different standpoint.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely read from the book because there are a few things in there that are clearer than his lectures. The best piece of advice I can give though is thoroughly answer the readings he gives you because the questions really help you process the content and bring a lot of the concepts together, which helps clarify how they are related.
