    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I've taken both Biology 1 and APES from Mills and I find that the classes are very similar and he tends to reuse many of his lectures. Aside from more opportunities for field work the class is virtually the same as the required Bio 1 course.

    Course highlights:

I did find that the chapters on Ecology and Biological Classification were more indepth and explained better than they had been in Bio 1. The work we did on Ecology at Camp Coleman was helpful as far as understanding the subject matter on a real-world scale.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Once you fall behind it's very hard to get back on top of things. Only take this class if you are the kind of person to be able spend adequate time on the bookwork assignments and studying for the weekly tests.

    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mr. Mills is an interesting teacher and full of good advice for freshmen, but I would consider doing some serious self-study as far as the AP exam goes. His class is almost like his life story. You'll hear about his daughter who works at google a loooot.

    Course highlights:

Lots of great labs and a pretty good textbook. You learn a lot about local environmental issues.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't be afraid to ask questions.

    Advice for students:

Don't get behind once you are behind you will never catch up.
