Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
It brings together all your other previous years of math. There were many days where I was blown away at what we had learned. Mr. Willging is also a very good teacher and provides the best help if you do not understand something. It can be a hard class but once you understand it and practice lots of problems, it will become easier.
Course highlights:
I learned lots of new ideas, one being the concept of a derivative. Lots of people ask when you will use the math we learn in school in real life but in this case, we practiced the derivative in real life situations and it made it easy to understand. And there were lots of times where I was truly impressed with the lesson and being able to solve the problem correctly gave me huge confidence. I learned how to graph any equation and started to feel comfortable with graphing, which I never have.
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
Even if you do not understand the first few concepts and you feel overwhelmed, do not give up. The first few days of the class I felt overwhelmed and was questioning if I should have taken the class and if I wanted to drop it because I was not understanding concepts that I felt was supposed to be easy but at the end of the semester, I ended up with a 98% in the class.
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
I recommend this course because it is extremely challenging. I had to work hard and study for every test. Calculus was a little taste of college would feel like.
Course highlights:
My highlight would be when we had a group project of making roller coasters. We figured out what different turns and loops would work, using acceleration and velocity.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
My advice would to study before every test and complete the homework assigned. Also, if you have any questions, go ask the teacher.
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
I would recommend this course because it gives one a challenge in mathematics. Although the course is quite difficult, it is mentally stimulating. One is given a new outlet to math. It shows an individual different methods to find solutions. If one enjoys mathematics, this course will be a bit more easy.
Course highlights:
I learned a lot of new mathematical methods that will help me be successful in college. I learned how to calculate derivatives and many more things. Aside from math, I learned how to manage my time outside of class to complete my assignments.
Hours per week:
9-11 hours
Advice for students:
In order to complete this course, dedication is required. The work is complicated and requires attention. One must be willing to put in multiple hours outside of class to complete the homework assigned.
