    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Mr. Barksdale makes this course a challenge, but there is never a boring moment in his class. He knows so much about history, and you will take a LOT of notes, but you learn a lot. Expect to memorize presidents, their political parties, presidential eras, and a lot more. Don't worry if you don't do well on his tests - he makes them impossible on purpose, and he curves them. It's all in your best interest. His opinions are strong, but he is respectful of others' views as well.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to read news articles, form political opinions of my own, and how to make a consistent and efficient study schedule. This was the first class I ever took where a long paper was required, and so that experience prepared me for university English classes.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you study! Don't expect to do well on his tests, but make sure you do better than the rest of your class, and you'll be fine. Be sure to turn in the papers during the early turn-in stage. You'll want all the advice you can get. Zimbabwe points are the bomb.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This US National Government class was one of my personal favorites. The way that Mr. Barksdale teaches the material instills passion into the student. I wanted to participate and bring my knowledge to the class because of the way he teaches.

    Course highlights:

This course was especially interesting because it took place during the 2016 election. This time period created an interest and meaning that I've never experienced in a government class before.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Work hard. It's not going to be easy, but the benefits outweigh the costs. Participate in class--it will help you learn to mean in the material.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mr Barksdale is a genius and knows everything anyone could know about politics. As long as you do every paper, you should succeed.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to research and became very informed of the work around me.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do well on papers, he revises then if you do an early turn it. Try and succeed.
