    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

First off, I took this course at Wenatchee Valley College, but I couldn't use that as an option so I put WHS in the school option. Second, I took this course because I needed a 200 level English class, but after the first week I was so excited I put a lot of focus on my studies in it. It was a response to literature class.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to read poems and short stories well, and how to respond to them with essays. My favorite part of the course was our ten-page term paper which was an analysis of the life works of a selected author. I chose Steinbeck as my author and I felt my professor, Stewart, taught and equipped me well to understand how to evaluate such a massive amount of work and respond to it in a brief but deep way.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Remember to read your essays that you are submitting aloud several times before you turn them in. It's never a good idea to turn in a paper that you don't feel 100% confident that you have done your very best work in. In this class especially, there is a lot of reading and writing so you may be tempted to slack off on editing essays, but Professor Stewart grades hard and she will not give good grades to you if you don't do your best.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor was a great teacher and focused on student success. He took time inside and outside of class time to make sure we were on track.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to be more punctual and how to present myself in a professional setting. He helped me with my resumes and college applications.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Put time aside to study every day. Finish the class work and then do something for yourself. When you are in school that is the main focus point.
