    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Workbook is expensive & requires a computer program that cannot be downloaded for less than $100. You can use the program on campus but the labs it is available in are few & far between. The course doesn't REALLY use a textbook and is mostly lecture-based, however the professor tends to get off topic or go into more detail than necessary. I am a straight A student who attended every day & I got a C. The average score on his exams is a 60% (he is up front about this in the beginning of the class!).

    Course highlights:

Telescopes, radio waves, solar flares, planetary basics. Overall, the course was enjoyable. It was just VERY difficult to attain a desirable grade.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

    Just don't. It's a trap! Stay away!

Easy Course, all you need to do to succeed is to do your homework and the reviews.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about our galaxy and all of the different planets and stars.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

You don't need the textbook, just do the homework and reviews and take notes and you'll be perfectly fine.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course if you thoroughly enjoy learning about our solar system, and the history of how we've come to know it.

    Course highlights:

This course gives a thorough assessment of our solar system and it's structure. I learned about the composition of the major bodies in outer space, as well as properties of light, telescopes, and the history of the Universe. The evolution of the Sun, planets, moons, and other bodies is also discussed in the course.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Students should be prepared to have at least one homework assignment per week, as well as extensive studying and memorization of the material. The quizzes were fairly simple of they are prepared for. This instructor was approachable and made class interesting, however, they did not use the online classroom so attendance is a priority.
