    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

    Professional Clinical Nursing 1 begins to adequately prepare the nursing student for basic clinical skills in a variety of settings to work as a registered nurse. You will learn basic medical / surgical knowledge and skills to excel in the program.

    Course highlights:

    I learned medical / surgical skills including assessments, how to read labs, monitor patient vital signs, signs and symptoms, and how to respond in a multitude of patient situations. You will begin to learn about all the body systems, diseases, and appropriate treatment plans for many patient clinical situations.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

    Study, study, study! Reading, knowing, understanding, and practicing clinical skills will get you adequately prepared for the real life clinical situations that you will encounter. Taking practice questions and being proactive in class will help in your success in this course.
