    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It's a really fun class to take if you want to learn more about music cultures, and how music plays a role in society. It is a mandatory class for music majors, but I also highly recommend to non-music majors because I found this class very intellectual and not very stressful. We also get to do some hands-on activities in class that you get to play exotic instruments that you have never played before.

    Course highlights:

I think the highlight of this course was actually learning about opera, which turned out to be quite interesting at the end. We learn how the opera was developed, and what different types of operas there are. I also liked learning about musical notations as there is a long history of musical notations that turned out to be interesting.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Just make sure to read the materials before class. And participate a lot in class because participation counts a lot, and it really helped my grade a lot. Feel free to study with your friends because I made lots of great friends from this class. And don't get too stressed out if you don't have that much of music background because you will learn a lot.
