    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because if the proper amount of effort and time is applied, the course can be extremely rewarding. Being a prerequisite, this course provides a lot of general information that I believe will be very useful later on in a variety of business-related courses.

    Course highlights:

One highlight of this course is the textbook that is used. The course I took used "Financial Accounting 8th Edition, by Libby, Libby, and Short." The online version provided me with the ability to highlight, take notes, and watch guiding videos while doing certain homework problems. I learned a variety of fundamental concepts and methods used in financial accounting. Overall, I would say I drastically increased my ability to communicate in the business world.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

My main piece of advice would be to read the textbook, and do the homework problems. In my opinion, the only way to succeed in this course is by having a good enough understanding of the concepts in order to have the ability to apply them when answering questions. Study tips that helped me to succeed include rewriting my notes, and completing an abundance of practice problems.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It's not a class that I would recommend unless you have an interest in accounting or you're taking it to fulfill a business school requirement.

    Course highlights:

This class teaches you a lot about accounting and how to read financial statements. It's a good foundational course for anyone interested in finance or accounting.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The textbook is helpful to have because that's where the practice problems for the tests come from. Reading the textbook isn't essential, but there are small topics that show up on the tests but were not talked about in class.
