    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Lewellyn does a great job of breaking down the material for students in class, and makes learning fun by doing demonstrations and using visuals to engage the classroom.

    Course highlights:

I learned all about the basics of chemistry in this course. One of the highlights was the fact that he teaches the class in a flipped classroom format, which allowed you to collaborate with classmates for the majority of the class period rather than having long lectures.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Never be afraid to ask questions during class, and go to office hours every week. This will only reinforce what you're learning!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The professor was amazing. She has been working for years designing a new general chemistry curriculum and it is amazing. She ties chemistry in with structures and it increase your knowledge of the world.

    Course highlights:

The class is taught in a room with round tables. You are put into groups and are told to collaborate with your group members. If the three of you achieve an average of 80% on the exam you get a boost. Her new curriculum involves bits of Organic Chemistry which works in conjunct with the general chemistry knowledge you are gaining.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Go to office hours often and do all of the back of chapter problems more than once.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Although Dr. McGill is a very knowledgable professor, I did not enjoy the way she led her lecture. I felt like she went much too quickly, and wasn't helpful with clarifying questions after class.

    Course highlights:

I didn't enjoy this course at all, and didn't have any highlights.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you read the book as often as you can, because Dr. McGill won't explain very well.
