Velocity vs. Time
Purpose- The purpose of this lab was to measure velocity and terminal velocity starting out with
5 coffee filters. By measuring out the time and length of numerous drops we can calculate and
compare velocities.
Materials- 5 or more coffe
Motion Lab
Purpose- we are to use the measure of the incline to measure gravity (g) and compare how close
that value is to 9.8.
Procedure- We start off by using a frictionless collision cart and put it on a track on an incline to
obtain the beast measure
Momentum Lab
Purpose- Purpose of this lab is to prove the impulse momentum theory.
Procedure- In this lab we can calculate momentum in a rather simple way using a ring stand,
force meter, rubber bands, collision cart and track, and a Lab Quest. First, we
Conservation of Momentum Lab
Purpose- The purpose of this lab was to prove the conservation of momentum theory, proving
that the momentum before the cart was pushed equaled the momentum after the cart was pushed.
Procedure- We started off by setting up tw
Density Lab
Purpose- The purpose of this lab was to show that the force of buoyancy is equal to the
difference between the weight of the metal in the air and weight of the metal in the water. With
these values we can predict the actual elements each metal
Laser Lab
Purpose- The purpose of this lab was to use diffraction to find the wavelength of a red laser and
to find the width of tracks on a CD. This is possible because as a laser is shone through a pair of
slits the light spreads out and diffracts.
