    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend the course because it taught me that understanding what the author of a story means by using different literary elements is essential to understanding the plot of the story. By comprehending the elements one can gain a deeper understanding of the story.

    Course highlights:

There was a lot of short stories that we were required to read. The short stories were classic American literature that highlighted different aspects of American time periods. One story I read was "Good Country People". The story had a deeper meaning than what is displayed by just reading the story. I learned that to understand the deeper meaning that stories often have, you must analyze the elements in the story and even the author's background. Stories often contained connections between history or the author's life.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be sure to read the short stories thoroughly and follow the instructor's directions as best you can. Do not forget to read the other passages referring to a story or explaining what a literary element is.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because it is required to pass college.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were the assignments such as weekly tests and quizzes. Also, the weekly discussion forums that were counted for majority of my grade.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not procrastinate. Make sure to turn in assignments on time and read the required book lessons in order to understand the discussion forum questions.

    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is a required core class so it has to be completed.

    Course highlights:

I learned that I am not as strong of a writer as I thought. I learned about the different types of writing (Satire, modernism, etc...). I enjoyed the class because reading is a hobby of mine.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Read, Read, read stay on top of your assignments as there will be a lot of writing. Pay attention to your grammar and do not use contractions in your papers.
