    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The professor has a lot of energy, and you can tell she's passionate about what she teaches. She's a bit a goofball, but that makes things interesting if I'm honest.

    Course highlights:

A lot of about the chemical reactions responsible for how living organisms function. Biochemistry is a big a deal in every unit of this course, and it never goes away. Though it is interesting to look at some of the processes responsible for keeping us going.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Not gonna mince words, this class is Tough (with a capital T). Be sure to take notes while doing the lecture preps, that the way the quizzes will be a lot easier for you. Attend the Supplemental Instruction(SI) sessions regularly, not only is it another way to learn but it's also free points just for showing up, literally no downsides. Paying attention in class is also a good idea since you'll be periodically quizzed, and those points can add up

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Why the course was challenging, Dr. Svec was a really nice professor. She was very approachable which made the learning easier because you could go and ask her to explain something and she would. Plus the material was really interesting.

    Course highlights:

I learned the basics of biology. I went from learning about macromolecules, to learning about the smallest cell. Most of it was learning about the cell and how it works. Then it went into all the different purposes of proteins, carbohydrates, lipids and fats.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the book and do the pre lecture guides. Also take really good notes, make sure to go to every class! And talk to Dr. Svec, she is a really nice person and will help you through the tough information.
