    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is incredibly rewarding even if it is equally as demanding. The course itself is very engaging and Mrs. Preising is so passionate about the subject that the class does not even feel like a burden.

    Course highlights:

In APUSH you learn so much from the discovery of America to the Clinton administration.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

For a rec letter: Preising has special awards that she hands out to the students that show the most effort and interest in her class. She only writes recommendation letters for these people and she is known to write some of the best rec letters so if you want this make sure to study and be prepared to ask really good questions For class: She is really strict with food, talking, and phones (do not forget your ostrich papers!) For the tests: I would recommend really paying attention in class that way the overhead handouts will not need to be studied as much. I would focus the majority of your time studying the readings. If you want an A I would definitely recommend that you READ and take notes. Pay close attention to even the small details. For me, it worked best when I would read the textbook and take notes and then I would review my notes the night before the test. A helpful site to look at for review is course notes (I would definitely recommend looking at that). Also for first semester be sure to complete the DAR essay for lots of bonus points, this boosts your grade quite a bit and requires very little extra effort (besides the research portion) on your part. Good luck!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course, as it is important preparation for future courses to be informed about United States history. This rigorous course allowed me to develop crucial study habits and learn how to manage my time wisely. It takes a lot of time and effort to succeed in APUSH, but if you complete all the readings, take thorough notes, and study ahead of time, success will follow.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of this course was learning about post World War II. It was interesting to learn about monumental supreme court cases, such as Roe v Wade and about the heroes that improved life for millions today. We learned about the native American tribes, the first settlers who arrived, the revolutionary war, the civil war, Reconstruction, the Great Depression, and so much more.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise students to thoroughly complete all of the assigned readings and even read extra material to better understand the history. Make sure to take neat and well written notes, and study for tests in advance. Managing time wisely is essential and will prepare a student for success in this course.
