Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is highly educational and interesting. In this class, you will learn the history of America and for any American, this is an important class. You will learn history that is referred to often in current politics. Additionally, the teachers are hilarious.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot of facts about US history that I never knew. The class does not just tell you facts and events and dates, but in this class, I learned about eras with different politics, economy, and social customs. I learned about how the US has evolved over the years.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Practice the online practice tests from previous AP exams. The questions are worded differently and many students have a hard time figuring out what the question is asking and what the answer is. Make sure to do the homework. The homework is given to prepare students for tests and for the exam. Take detailed notes. The how's and why's an event occurred is just as important as what the event was and when it took place.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

John Hosmer told history as though it were a story. "History is an interpretation", that is the first thing you learn in this class. Every source has a bias and every bias has a story so you must remember to keep the interpretation of your author in mind.

    Course highlights:

U.S. History taught by John Hosmer makes University High School worth it. He tells stories to help you remember different concepts and makes students think of situations from different point of views. He also has students read historians who write about the subject to give students a better understanding of different interpretations.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study your terms. Memorize your terms and look at how they interlink. The terms are usually a short-cut to what you have to study in order to understand the material and score well on the test.
