    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Personally, I am a bio-fanatic, so I was surprised that I loved this class. I could tell the teacher was very passionate about biology as well. The only difficulty of this course was the work you had to put in outside of the classroom. Specifically, reading the textbook was critical in understanding the broad concepts.

    Course highlights:

For me, the highlights of the course was photosynthesis and cellular respiration. Having taken honors biology the previous year, I had a general understanding of the processes; however in the class you learned the two processes in immense detail. I feel that my teacher prepared me well for the AP test; however, I will say that the test was not easy. You definitely have to take initiative and study on your own.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to be a very responsible student in order to succeed in AP Biology. Reading the textbook is critical. For me, watching videos that explained complex processes (such as the endocrine system and immune system) helped me better understand them. As well, for everything that I could not understand, I would ask Ms. C because she is very good at walking you through the processes.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class offers a fast-pace and challenging curriculum, which ultimately allowed me to challenge myself to survive through the countless pop quizzes, the tough chapter tests, and ultimately the AP Biology test in May. Although this class definitely challenged me, it allowed me to see my potential as a growing learner, and the topics intrigued me so much that I now consider majoring in Bio.

    Course highlights:

From gaining a more in-depth perspective of DNA, to learning about each carbon in the Calvin Cycle, and learning about the general biological function of several species, this class offers informative education in Biology. This class allowed me to succeed in the class I am currently taking (IB Bio), where I am able to understand detailed knowledge when conducted hands-on experiments.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this course, you must study every night and review the notes taken in class. The topics are not challenging to grasp; however, if you do not create time to study the topics, it will be harder to understand so many topics. Studying is key. Ask questions during class and if you do not understand something, ask your teacher.
