    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it obtains a lot of things you need to become a proficient and sophisticated writer.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was being able to display my writing and getting a true response. Getting knocked down with affective criticism and being able to take that criticism and develop from it.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

This course takes a lot of time and effort. I recommend you learn your literary devices, proper way forming an essay, and get help is you are struggling. Most importantly the biggest tip is to stay positive.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because of the teacher and the material we study in class. We dig deep into the literary works we study while looking through the philosophical viewpoints, figurative language, and symbols throughout what we read. Dr. Lynch is a teacher who cares about the growth of a student which is encouraging to me.

    Course highlights:

I have gained much more confidence in writing essays, annotating, and understanding a literary work. Becoming an active in AP literature enabled me to build a rapport with my teacher and my willingness to learn grew.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice towards future students would be to read all of the books assigned this will help you when writing essays. Having a myriad of literary works to pick from will help you become a better writer and support your arguments enabling you to read as a mature writer.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Mrs. Thornton has the most vivacious, creative, immersive literature teaching style I have ever experienced. Discussions are always full of new ideas, projects involve multiple facets of analysis and comprehension, and even the most monotonous works are able to be viewed in a golden light with her guidance.

    Course highlights:

I have learned how to analyze with more depth in less words; coming from an IB literature class, I was terrified that it would be far more difficult than it ended up being. Mrs. Thornton also has given us more freedom to be creative with our projects and essays, which gives a more immersive learning experience.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the books and contribute to discussions. If you put yourself out there, you will learn so much more.
