Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

English 101 has been the best English class I have taken throughout my four years in high school. Focusing on writing, I expanded my abilities and was able to compose papers about topics I enjoy.

    Course highlights:

The biggest highlight of this course was my senior research paper, which I wrote over the course of nine weeks, focusing on animal captivity. The assignment was a lot of work, however being allowed to select my own topic and conduct my own research made it an enjoyable process. Once the essay was finished, each student in the class presented their information through a powerpoint. This was a chance to learn about various different issues that I had little to know background knowledge on.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Advice I would give to a student considering this course would be to keep in mind that it is a writing-based class. There are not an over-abundant amount of assignments, so each essay does count. I would also advise students to avoid procrastinating at all costs. This class is very interesting and many riveting discussions are held throughout each semester.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend taking this course because it prepares you for more college courses and improves writing/researching. Also, taking this course as a senior in high school will benefit you as you finish your Senior Project the first semester, so it is already done with and out of the way. Unlike other English courses I have taken in the past, the writing is very hands-off as you get to choose many of your own topics within your papers.

    Course highlights:

From taking English 101, I obtained more knowledge on how to accurately and correctly research a topic, then thoroughly write about it. I also got to practice public speaking as I had to present a big project in front of the class for six to ten minutes. My vocabulary has expanded just by taking one semester of this course due to the plethora of new words that you are introduced and tested on.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would suggest that students do not get behind on their work and to make sure they use the helpful resources that are available to them. If you ever feel as if you are behind, it is important to talk to a teacher or a tutor to make sure you can catch up before moving on and getting left behind. There are going to be many vocabulary words that are introduced to you so make sure to study those because even though it may seem like a hassle, it will benefit you and your writing in the future. You have to do it, so get something out of it!
